چکیده

The noncontact and wide-band characteristics of the ultrasonic signal excited by laser make it widely used in nondestructive detection. In this paper, finite element method is to simulate multiple modes responses them metal defects. simulation shows that changes Rayleigh-wave (RW) shear-wave (SW) can be research surface crack internal defect sample respectively. By analyzing reflected wave RW SW at inspection point, effects on signals two are quantitatively compared. results show time delay Rayleigh echo has a linear relationship width transverse position crack, peak-valley difference point depth also fitted linearly. addition, Y component displacement bottom decays with change defect. This model provides theoretical basis for further experimental verification basis.

Numerical simulation of laser beam welding of Ti6Al4V sheet

This paper was aimed to report the 3D finite element analysis simulation of laser welding process of Ti6Al4V 1.7 mm sheets in butt joint in order to predict the temperature distribution, hardness, and weld geometry. The butt-joint welds were made using CO2 laser with the maximum power of 2.2 kW in the continuous wave mode. A part of the experimental work was carried out to verify the weld geome...

Numerical simulation of deformation of a metal foam Numerical simulation of deformation of a metal foam

Mathematical model for the description of deformation of a porous metal is constructed on the basis of generalized rheological method. In this method a new rheological element, so-called rigid contact, is used to describe the uniaxial deformation of materials with different resistance to tension and compression. Change in the resistance of a porous metal to external loads, when the collapse of ...

Design and Simulation of a Metal-Insulator-Metal Filter Based on Plasmonic Split Ring

In this paper, a plasmonic filter made of a split ring, two U-shaped structures and two straight waveguides is designed and investigated. In the proposed structure, the split ring and U-shaped structures are situated between straight waveguides. Simulations are done based on FDTD method. Split ring, U-shaped structures and straight waveguides are made of air in the silver background. In the pro...

Detection of flaws on metal surfaces using tone burst laser ultrasound

Metal surface flaws on can be detected using the frequency transmission characteristics of surface acoustic waves (SAW). In addition, noncontact, remote detection can be made possible by using laser ultrasound. So far, broadband SAW generated by a single generation laser has been used for surface flaw detection[1]. Results have shown that the SAW transmitted across a slit of depth 0.5 mm showed...

Simulation-Based Radar Detection Methods

In this paper, radar detection based on Monte Carlo sampling is studied. Two detectors based on Importance Sampling are presented. In these detectors, called Particle Detector, the approximated likelihood ratio is calculated by Monte Carlo sampling. In the first detector, the unknown parameters are first estimated and are substituted in the likelihood ratio (like the GLRT method). In the sec...
